Capital Factory Corporate Kite Contest
Welcome to the Capital Factory Corporate Kite Contest hosted by Capital Factory at the ABC Kite Fest in Zilker Park! Grab 4 of your closest friends, colleagues, or fellow competitors and join us for this exciting, build-your-own kite completion.
Teams will have a chance to build a kite and compete in up to two (2) of the following Divisions; Box Kite, Largest Kite, Smallest Kite, Most Unusual Kite, or Kite Battle. Register your team by completing the form below. You will receive a confirmation once your purchase is complete.

Capital Factory is the Center of Gravity for Entrepreneurship in Texas, the number one startup state in the U.S. Last year, more than 200,000 entrepreneurs, programmers and designers across Austin, Dallas and Houston gathered in-person and online for meetups, classes, coworking, mentorship, and events. Contest Categories:
Box Kite (Cellular Kites)
Only Box Kites will be allowed in this judging category. Box Kites will be judged on their ability to fly for their type, steadiness on the line, and overall design.
Largest Kite
Square footage of the sail area will determine the largest kite. Kite Trains are not allowed. Kites must be capable of flying for one minute to qualify. Contestants are limited to three attempts in this event.
Smallest Kite
Entries must fly on 25 feet of line and fly higher than the point of mooring. Kite line will be measured during check-in.
Most Unusual Kite
Entries are judged on theme, construction and design. Judges will look for odd, striking, or novel features and shapes.
Kite Battle
Single line kites only. Take your competitors kite out of the sky. Cutting string is not allowed! This category is open to teams of two persons or more. Last kite flying is the winner!

Rules & Regulations
The rules and regulations outlined in this document are hereby agreed to upon registration of the competing team members. The overall objective of this competition is to have fun while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and comradery in the competitive kite flying community!
The Rules:
- Teams must display their Team Number/Name at all times
- Teams may include up to four (4) people
- Teams must only enter one (1) kite per division (max 2 divisions per team)
- Kites must fly to qualify for judging
Please Note:
- Check-in will be held from 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on March 29, 2020 at the Capital Factory Hospitality Tent
- The Capital Factory Corporate Kite Contest starts at approximately 3:00 pm
- 1st place trophies will be awarded in each Division.

Rules and Regulations
- All participants of the Capital Factory Corporate Kite Competition at the ABC Kite Fest must be registered
- Contest Teams may include up to four (4) people
- Competitors may enter into up to two (2) Divisions
- Only one entry per Division is allowed
- Flight time and line length:
- All kites must fly for a minimum of 5 minutes
- Each kite must fly in a manner appropriate for its type
- All parts/pieces of the kite submitted must be flown with the kite during judging
- Judge decisions are final
- A kite damaged during flight judging may be repaired by the flier and resubmitted for flight judging before the judging time is over
- If the wind drops or rises to speeds unreasonable for successful flights, judging may be postponed until a more favorable time. In the interest of maintaining the schedule of events posted, competitors are responsible for adhering to the schedule as posted or as modified.
- Contestants will refrain from any unsafe, disruptive, obscene, or unsportsmanlike conduct. Failure to observe these rules may result in disqualification from the competition by the judges
